Famous Iconic Beauty Items That Were Once Great and Now Have Cheap, Shitty Ingredients

At a time when the awareness of the importance of "Clean Beauty" and the safety of ingredients within the products we buy is greater than ever, you'd think that more and more companies would be reformulating their products to have less skin irritants.

But in fact, the opposite is true: more and more consumers are finding that the most iconic "Holy Grail" beauty items they once loved are changing their formulas and replacing the "good stuff" in them with tons of cheap ingredients that irritate their skin—even while prices of all products are raising more than ever before, usually arbitrarily without increasing the amount of product given for the price and even shrinking significantly, without notice or justifiable explanation, if any explanation.

I guess living in this dark, toxic era really proves the age-old saying: "Nothing gold can stay."

Laneige Water Bank Essence

Ingredients: Water/Aqua/Eau, Propanediol, Hexyldecyl Myristoyl Methylaminopropionate, Isostearyl Neopentanoate, Glycerin, Methyl Trimethicone, Sea Water / Maris Aqua / Eau De Mer, Saccharide Isomerate, Dimethicone, Polyacrylate Crosspolymer-6, Tromethamine, Dimethicone/ Vinyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Butylene Glycol, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Carbomer, Glyceryl Caprylate, Disodium Edta, Ethylhexylglycerin, 1,2-Hexanediol, Fragrance / Parfum, Chenopodium Quinoa Seed Extract, Magnesium Sulfate, Calcium Chloride, Phenoxyethanol, Sodium Citrate, Citric Acid, T-Butyl Alcohol, Beta Vulgaris (Beet) Root Extract / Extrait De Racine De Betterave, Manganese Sulfate, Zinc Sulfate, Lecithin, Brassica Oleracea Acephala Leaf Extract, Nasturtium Officinale Extract, Tocopherol, Lepidium Sativum Sprout Extract, Ascorbyl Glucoside.

Basically this whole product’s ingredient list has been replaced by cheap, harmful fillers....What a disappointment for Laneige’s iconic Water Bank Essence!

First Aid Beauty Cleanser

Ingredients: Water/Aqua/Eau, Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate, Glycerin, Stearic Acid, Hydrogenated Coconut Acid, Sodium Isethionate, Stearyl Alcohol, Allantoin, Chrysanthemum Parthenium (Feverfew) Extract, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Extract, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Tocopherol, Caprylyl Glycol, Sodium PCA, Coco-Glucoside, Glyceryl Oleate, Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose, Hydrogenated Palm Glycerides Citrate, Disodium Cocoamphodiacetate, Phenoxyethanol, Sodium Chloride, Disodium EDTA, Citric Acid, Maltodextrin, Leuconostoc/Radish Root Ferment Filtrate, EDTA.

Originally famous for being one of the best cleansers for sensitive skin, this product now contains sodium chloride which is basically the chemical name for salt, which is highly irritating to the skin. It even made me break out!

Testimonies from Ulta Reviews:

Hopefully if enough attention is brought to it, beauty and skincare companies can reformulate their iconic and expensive flagship products to once again have formulaic integrity!

Wishing For The Best,
